nearly over.

i spent one whole week on the west coast of the united states of america, soaking in sun, working on my tan, sleeping alot and wandering around the piers of santa monica for a well deserved rest. i think i'll stick around shanghai for the next month or so, and then maybe to korea for a visit to the motherland. christmas is coming up, after all. xo.

jellymon!

i'm still on the west coast and so won't be able to go to this show, which will be amazing. seeing that list of names out there makes me appreciate all the much more how many creative, awesome people live in china - it's really easy to forget this in the day to day hustle of surviving out here. if you're in shanghai, go check it out, or visit the JELLYMON site for more info.

sweet dreams lax?

workin, workin, workin... on a tan. xo

workin' for the weekend!

some pictures from the weekend.... polar bear dog!!

crazy cat lady.

drooling over this house, and dreaming about the day i get to fulfill my destiny of being the crazy cat lady.

i am fighting a losing battle with my body, it refuses to acknowledge the time zone i am currently in. i think i'll get over it in a couple of days, but then on tuesday i'm going to be here, hanging out with this guy.

the beautiful project!

my friend jeanette's calendars were featured on design*sponge the other day. go to her etsy shop and buy everything before the holidaysssss. xo

she gave me crabs?

so i'm back home now, in smoggy hazy hilarious shanghai. most bizarre and sweet, my ayi came by on monday night with some Real Live Hairy Crabs! i think i must have looked horrified and confused, because she made a big show of putting them on the counter and letting me watch them do their creepy walk around. then she put them in a pot and boiled them, and then left me to eat them?

the thing is, i'm down with crabs, i like them in restaurants, with ginger and garlic, red and delicious. i just can't deal with eating anything that was previously walking around my apartment. you know?

at the borderline, oct. 1st.

will post more later xo.

never gonna give you up

hello, london!

everything has been pretty great so far - got in on monday afternoon after a fantastic flight on virgin atlantic. anyone needing to fly to london on business class needs to fly virgin. i am a convert. everything was so fanastic, and i slept a full 10 hours and spent the rest of the time eating and watching a joy division documentary that basically said nothing new.

have met merek twice after work, and again tonight! since meeting about five years ago, we've never lived in the same city, so our friendship has basically been ON THE INTERNET. it is so awesome to be able to say 'oh hallo, let's meet, say, half an hour? ok, see you then!'.

what else? ummmm, on monday night we went to eat at the vietnamese resturaunt i am totally obsessed with, and my hotel/office are in the best location ever and everything is central. also, when i checked into my room, there were gerber daisies waiting for me from someone, which is a whole other story that's sweet and maybe i will tell you about one day.

london is gray & rainy nearly all the time. today there is actually a bit of blue sky, but against the laws of nature, it is STILL RAINING. bizarre.

tonight - ladyhawk! xo

ps. some things rick astley will never do:
1. give you up
2. let you down
3. run around and desert you

(a full commitment's what he's thinking of)
